My first contact with Eastern Finland was when I was brought here as a two foot long baby. Ever since then the region of South Savo has had a special meaning for me. When a local man enticed me here 20 years ago, this part of the country became literally an affair of the heart.

Only on loan

For more than 10 years I have strived to put Eastern Finland on the map of the world. During these years I have produced hundreds of television reports and newspaper articles which have circulated throughout Finland and in the other Nordic countries.

All my actions are linked by the idea of borrowing. Our children, our region and our planet are only on loan to us, and that's why we have to take good care of each other and of our natural environment.
